The Friends of the Grafton Public Library is a volunteer organization that works to support our library through advocacy and activities designed to raise money for library needs which are not funded by our local, state or federal government.
We use the money we raise from the Down Under Bookstore, fundraisers, and memberships to offer a variety of programs to the Grafton community. These programs include museum passes, the summer reading program, exhibits, speakers, workshops, and concerts.
There are several ways to get involved with the Friends. In addition to volunteering at individual events, you can serve on our of our committees. If you're interested joining a committee, just let us know.
The Board of Directors makes most of the major decisions on behalf of the Friends, and meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month. Though only board members can vote during board meetings, all members are welcome to attend, and members can have items added to the agenda by notifying the president (use our contact page) at least seven days before the meeting.

The Membership Committee's tasks include maintaining the membership list, ensuring that renewal notices are mailed, communicating with the membership via MailChimp and Facebook, and recording and acknowledging all membership dues received and ensuring that the Treasurer receives the money. The committee is appointed by the President and consists of at least two members, including a Chair who serves on the Board of Directors.
The Publicity Committee's tasks include managing all communication with the public (advertisements, press releases, etc.), assisting the Membership Committee in communication with the membership, and discussing how the Friends can assist the library's publicity/marketing needs with the Library Director and/or staff liaison. The committee is appointed by the President and consists of at least two members, including a Chair who serves on the Board of Directors.

The Nominating Committee's task is to present one nomination for each office to the general membership at the Annual Meeting. The committee is appointed by the Board of Directors and consists of at least two people.
